Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense either to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God(1 Corinthians 10:31-32 NASB)

Swept away

Last Sunday I was in Zurich, blessed to preach at the wonderful International Baptist Church. Discussing this text and the biblical calling to work, someone kindly reminded me of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “Street Sweeper Speech”:

Even if it falls your lot to be a street sweeper, go on out and sweep streets like Michelangelo painted pictures; sweep streets like Handel and Beethoven composed music; sweep streets like Shakespeare wrote poetry. Sweep streets so well that all the host of heaven and earth will have to pause and say, “Here lived a great street sweeper who swept his job well.” – Martin Luther King, Jr. “Street Sweeper”

Sweep well, my friends! And yes, I will be teaching back in Frisco this Sunday, Lord willing.
